Sponsor walk for animal shelter

Again, 14-year-old Ben from Nijmegen is walking the Four Days Marches from 16-19 July to raise money for an animal shelter in Mongolia. These are badly needed!!! The picture above shows 12-year-old Aimen with a newborn cashmere goat. Aimen lives with her parents, brother, and grandfather in the Altai high mountains and at the shore of Lake Dayan. It is breathtakingly beautiful there and also very remote. Her father has horses, yaks, cashmere goats and sheep.
This year, it took such a long time before spring finally came! After Aimen’s picture was taken, there have been five intense cold spells, with up to four metres of snow falling. The area was even declared a disaster area by the United Nations. Many animals have died and the terror is well underway. To save Aimen and her family from losing their livestock (and income), animal shelters are desperately needed.
